12 kA impulse current generator
Compact test solution for testing with waveform 1 current impulses up to 12 kA. Suitable for indirect lightning tests on material joints and pipework. AVI-0812 includes a dark mode, switching off all light sources for the eaier detection of sparks.
Specialist material testing in hazardous environments requires a high energy waveform 1 current impulse. Applied directly to material or pipes to test for joint integrity this is a test that ensures the safety of all aircraft. Material joints or pipes within fuel tanks are subjected to impulse tests defined in SAE ARP 6205, SAE ARP 5416 and SAE AS5958. For development and investigation work of material coupons, AVI-0812 impulse risetime can be adjusted and the impulse generated up to 12kA. For testing in a dark chamber, AVI-0812 has a special feature eliminating all light sources for easier detection of sparking.
